Homeville Creek Bridge No. 8 Replacement

This project consisted of the removal of the existing structure on Green Springs Avenue in Munhall, PA and constructing a new 20-foot span concrete and steel bridge over Homeville Creek. Work included new reinforced concrete abutments and footing, new wing walls, replacement of the existing 21" sanitary line beneath the creek bed within the work area, construction of a new 8" reinforced concrete bridge deck on new 24" wide flange steel beams and new concrete safety parapets.

Associated roadway work included a new 15" approach pavement of a 6" aggregate base and 9" bituminous concrete template. A waterproof membrane was installed on the concrete bridge deck prior to placement of the bituminous wearing course. Close coordination of the work with an abutting residential property was required throughout the construction.

  • Sampling & testing of all required bituminous, concrete and aggregate materials
  • Shop Drawing Review
  • Recommendation on all Contractor Submittals
  • Preparation of Progress Payments
  • Preparation of Project Change Orders

  • Perform Project Close-Out
